FACE OF THE WICKED – WICKED SMILE UNLEASH NEW SINGLE AND OPEN PRE-ORDERS FOR WHEN NIGHT FALLS

There’s a certain satisfaction when a band leans fully into the classic metal thunder that shaped them, and Australia’s Wicked Smile have never been shy about where their loyalties lie. Their new single, Face Of The Wicked, lands today with a hefty nod to Sabbath and Dio, a slower, heavier stride, and a vocal performance from Danny Cecati that feels carved straight from the era he grew up worshipping. The track is the second preview of their upcoming album When Night Falls, the long-awaited follow-up to 2021’s well-received debut Wait For The Night. Guitarist Stevie Janevski makes no secret of it: they’re not reinventing the wheel, they’re burning rubber on it. “If you’re a fan of Dio, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Savatage, Dokken, Icon and Skid Row, I think you’ll like what we’ve done on our new album,” he says. That mix of classic metal roots, slower old-school stompers, and full-tilt bangers is very much the Wicked Smile blueprint, and Face Of The Wicked keeps that flame blazing.

There’s already a busy road ahead for the band. November will see Wicked Smile take the new record to Japan with shows in Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo, before crossing into Europe and the UK in 2026 for a run of headline dates and festival slots.

The album itself packs twelve tracks, including the title track, Back To Back We Stand, Rebel Souls, Never Surrender, Night Time Riders, The Phoenix Will Rise, and LP-only closer Edge Of Madness.

Formed around Cecati’s powerhouse vocals and the twin-guitar attack of Janevski and Davey Graham, Wicked Smile have steadily built a loyal following through sharp songwriting, strong messages, and a refusal to play metal by numbers. Their lyrics tackle everything from bullying to mental health, while their live reputation has seen them share stages with the likes of Skid Row, H.E.A.T., MSG, FM, Uli Jon Roth, Dream Evil, Tygers Of Pan Tang and a long list of others. Festival appearances, two UK tours in a single year, and last year’s Night Time Riders EP have only widened the spotlight.

With Face Of The Wicked now out in the world and When Night Falls on the horizon, Wicked Smile look set to push even further in 2025 and beyond.
